Montreal Acces culture network, has received its eco-responsible scene accreditation.

The Quebec Council for Eco-responsible Events did a greenhouse-gas analysis during a few events in 2014. It was able to identify which aspects the Maison de la culture de Pointe-aux-Trembles should work harder on. This is why an action plan was created to reduce the ecological footprint from shows. Julie Jacob is the cultural officer at Maison de la culture Pointe-aux-Trembles. She decided to undertake this project out of concern about the environment, appealing to citizens and her colleagues.

Maison de la culture de Pointe-aux-Trembles, through its action plan, aims at reducing residual materials and encouraging healthy lifestyles among its guests. The first was to ban the sale of disposable water bottles. Water bottles have been redesigned to be water bottles and cans with bulk fresh produce. On show nights, lemon water is available for those who bring their water bottles.
